ARE YOU GOING SKIING SOON?

For many people, ski trips are the highlight of the year. There's nothing quite like it; the mountain views, the fresh air and the sheer joy of sliding around on snow. Admittedly though, they do take a lot of organisation, and how you prepare for your time on snow can make or break your trip.

As you get ready, there will be a lot of things on your mind. What clothing and equipment you need. How to stay safe in busy ski resorts. What ski fitness exercises you can do to get your body ready. What are the fundamental ski techniques in order to have good control and confidence? How do you manage if the snow is icy? Or bumpy? Or when you pick up more speed and tackle steeper slopes. Beginners may be nervous and wondering how the lifts work. More advanced skiers might be wondering how they can improve their carving or mogul skiing. If any of these things are on your mind, check out this quick video. I have prepared the ultimate online resource to help skiers, from beginners to advanced, get the most of their time on snow.

A 90 MINUTE ONLINE COURSE

I have condensed 10 years of ski instructor's insights into an online course. Clear tutorial videos explain what skiers need to know in order to get the most of their time on snow.  The most common questions and problems are organised with their answers and solutions in a simple format. You can watch the videos any time, on your laptop, phone or tablet. PDFs and JPEGs summarise content and checklists, making it easy to understand, remember and refer back to. This learning resource is the ultimate pre-snow preparation to get you, or another member of your group, ready for your time on snow.

"I had skiid a couple of times before but I couldn't remember much about it and I find crowded slopes stressful. These videos made everything clear and the safety tutorial certainly helped me to avoid accidents during my last trip"

Sandra

"George was extremely helpful and patient as an instructor. I learned the basics of equipment and technique in his lesson. His online videos also helped me to understand a lot more before I even got to the slopes"

YOUR INSTRUCTOR: GEORGE TREBLE

Whilst I did have a go at skiing as a kid, I didn't really get into it until after university. I moved to the Alps aged 22 and fell in love with it. I learned gradually as I progressed through the instructor qualifications. I experienced the frustrations and difficulties and made many of the common mistakes. But with the help of others, I kept improving. I did back to back seasons, working as an instructor in New Zealand, Japan & the Alps. I now have more than 10,000 hours ski instructing experience, teaching people of all ages, abilities, shapes and sizes. It became increasingly clear to me what people need to know about skiing to get the most out of their holiday. So I have created an online resource to explain the most important things that I find myself repeating as an instructor.

LESSON 1 - GOLDEN RULE #1

(5:45 minutes)

If ever skiing technique seems complicated, it doesn't have to be. The fundamentals can be summarised by two Golden Rules which apply to the majority of scenarios and solve the majority of common problems. If you can master the two simple golden rules of ski technique - you will have control and confidence in pretty much all ski resort slopes.

LESSON 2 - GOLDEN RULE #2

(8 minutes)

The Second Golden Rule of skiing technique. These two fundamental technique videos clarify the complexities and make ski technique simple, clear and easy to understand.

LESSON 3 - SAFETY

(5 minutes)

10 tips for staying safe and avoiding accident and injury in ski resorts

LESSON 4 - GEAR & CLOTHING

(6 minutes)

What clothing and equipment you need for skiing, including a checklist to help you and your family to prepare. Not only before your holiday, but before you leave the house each morning as well.

LESSON 5.1 - SKI FITNESS

(10 minutes)

Ski Fitness - No equipment needed, for Green to Red run level skiers. Explaining skiing posture, balance and strength exercises helping you to get your body ready before your time on the snow.

Ski Fitness (no equipment needed) for more advanced, black run skiers. These videos explain the demands skiing will have on your body and how you can prepare, allowing you to maximise the enjoyment of your time on snow.

LESSON 5.3 - SKI FLEXIBILITY

(14 minutes)

Flexibility for skiers is an important part of getting your body ready for the slopes. Not only will it help you to avoid injury, but it will also help you to improve performance. Here's a ski-specific flexibility routine from PT & Pilates instructor Fi Pascall that you can do in less than 15 minutes.

LESSON 6 - BEGINNERS

(15 minutes)

Learning to ski can be intimidating and frustrating. This video helps beginners know what to expect from their first days learning to ski. Explaining equipment, how to use it, how to walk, slide, turn, slow down and stop. How to get on and off drag and chairlifts. How to carry equipment.

LESSON 7 - PARALLEL SKIING

(6:30 minutes)

How to Parallel Ski - the steps to expect on your progression and the 4 most important techniques and tactics to implement in order to help you achieve this goal

LESSON 8 - STEEPER SLOPES

(7 minutes)

How to tackle steeper slopes - the techniques and tactics which will help you ski red and black runs with control and confidence.

LESSON 9 - ICY SNOW

(6 minutes)

How to manage Icy conditions. This is a common fear amongst skiers and firm and icy conditions cannot always be avoided. The techniques, tactics and concepts in this video will help you (or someone else in your group) to tackle icy conditions with control and greater confidence.

LESSON 10 - MOGULS

(9 minutes)

Intermediate skiers may not initially enjoy bumpy conditions, but they can pop up at anytime, even on blue runs. This video explains how to tackle mogul conditions, helping intermediate skiers to become advanced.

If you can understand all the content in these tutorials, you will understand skiing better than 95% of people on the slopes. This course is jam packed with ski instructor insights with no adverts or filler footage. I sincerely hope it helps you to stay safe and get more enjoyment out of your time on snow. See you out there!

Can't I just learn this from Youtube?

Of course, there are many ski tutorial videos on youtube, but the algorithm is designed to suck you in and keep you watching. You will waste time watching filler footage and adverts, as well as being distracted by irrelevant videos. In contrast, this course is organised into a sequence and is designed to be easy to understand, remember and refer back to. Information is condensed, offering you a quicker and more effective transformation.
