45 MINUTE ONLINE COURSE FOR BEGINNER SKIERS
Learning to ski can be a scary and overwhelming process. Getting used to the equipment, the lifts and the techniques all at the same time is difficult and tiring, but the rewards are awesome. You're likely to have a limited amount of time on snow, so it's a good idea to do some preparation beforehand in order to get the best of it. This 45 minute online course is the perfect pre-requisite for beginner skiers, designed by Level 4 Alpine Ski Instructor, George Treble
Your first hours learning to ski are the most difficult. Equipment will feel awkward and uncomfortable. It can be exhausting, frustrating and scary. It's also important to get this stage right - to learn the correct techniques and to stay safe and inunjured whilst doing so. Using mechanical ski lifts for the first time is also understandably intimidating.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
When learning to ski, beginners must discover lots of new things. How the boots should fit. How the skis and bindings work. How to put the skis on and off. How to move around on skis - to steer, to brake and to stop. How to get on and off chair lifts and drag lifts. How ski resort traffic rules and piste etiquette works. How to stay safe and avoid accidents in ski areas. Before you get to all of that, you probably want to know how to get your body ski fit, and what clothing and equipment you need to pack and bring along. For your first hours on skis, it is highly recommended to have a ski instructor help you, but there is also a lot of pre-snow preparation you can do to get a head start.
